‘The Gathering’ a rare black tea, sweet and seductive with notes of chocolate wood and honeysuckle.
Available in very limited batches until Scottish tea plants reach full maturity the quality of tea made this year is beyond expectation. Made by tea expert Beverly Wainwright at The Scottish Tea Factory we are delighted with the results. We can now appreciate for ourselves that the Scottish soil does indeed have something wonderful to offer.
Islay chairs an association of Scottish Tea Growers, promoting best practice and ensuring authenticity from leaf to cup. Our current 14 members span Scotland: from Galloway to Orkney, Arran to East Lothian. We are developing this new crop for Scotland, collaborating to maintain high quality tea making.
We have also been working on a second tea from Tea Scotland with leaf from the 2021 harvest so watch the Tea Scotland website for where you can try it!
